Practical Experience
Project Involvement: Interns work on real projects that address community needs, such as event planning, program development, research, and community outreach.
Operational Roles: Interns assist with day-to-day operations of the organization, gaining experience in administration, communications, and program management.
Mentorship and Supervision
Guidance from Professionals: Each intern is paired with a mentor who provides guidance, feedback, and support throughout the internship. Mentors help interns set goals and navigate their professional development.
Regular Check-ins: Supervisors conduct regular check-ins with interns to monitor progress, provide constructive feedback, and address any challenges.
Skills Development
Workshops and Training: Interns participate in workshops and training sessions on topics such as leadership, project management, fundraising, grant writing, and public speaking.
Skill-Building Activities: Activities are designed to enhance specific skills, such as writing reports, creating presentations, and using software tools relevant to their roles.
Community Service and Engagemen
Volunteer Projects: Interns engage in community service projects that align with CANC’s mission, such as organizing food drives, assisting in the community garden, or supporting educational programs.
Event Participation: Interns help plan and execute community events, gaining experience in event management and community relations.
Program Structure
Duration: Internships typically last between 10-12 weeks, with flexible start and end dates to accommodate academic schedules.
Hours: Interns are expected to commit to a minimum of 15-20 hours per week. Schedules can be adjusted based on the intern’s availability and program needs.
Compensation: While some internships may be unpaid, CANC offers stipends or academic credit options in partnership with educational institutions.
Future Success: The skills, experiences, and connections gained through the program prepare youth for future educational and career opportunities.
Eligibility and Application Process
Eligibility: The program is open to undergraduate and graduate students, as well as recent graduates and young professionals. Applicants should demonstrate a strong interest in community service, non-profit work, and Cambodian culture.
Application: Interested candidates must submit an application form, along with a resume, cover letter, and references. The cover letter should explain the applicant’s interest in the program, relevant skills and experience, and career goals.
Interview: Selected candidates will be invited for an interview to discuss their application, internship goals, and suitability for the program.
